Description

The word ‘Jujharu’ comes from the Punjabi language which means a warrior who fights for truth & justice with a brave heart but in our history, this word is used for a particular section of Sikhs. In 1980’s Punjab was on a brink of revolution but the Indian state attacked Shri Harimandir Sahib to destroy the rebellion. Thousands of men, women & children were killed in the attack, Akal Takht Sahib was destroyed and Sikh reference library was burnt. In revenge for the attack, the Singh’s started an armed struggle, at that time the Kharku Singh’s were called Jujharu. AK47 is a symbol of rebellion not violence in this design. This design is dedicated to the Shaheed Singh’s who sacrificed everything for truth & justice.

Every person who fights for the truth and stands against the wrong is a Jujharu. In memory of the 1984 Shaheeds, we present this design as a tribute to those who fought for the truth and sacrificed their lives. Parnaam Shaheedan Nu.
