9 years old Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh ji, 7 years old Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh ji alongside their grandmother Mata Gujri Ji was separated from Guru Sahib in the battle of Sarsa. A traitor named Gangu gave information about Mata ji and sahibzade to the mughal forces. Mata ji and both sahibzade were captured and taken to Sirhind in the court of Wazir Khan (ruler of Sirhind). Wazir Khan gave countless gifts and bribes to convert young sahibzade to islam but both sahibzade refused every time. After trying every trick Wazir Khan’s advisor Sucha Nand suggested killing both young sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Wazir Khan gave the orders to brick both the sahibzade alive in a wall. Sahibzade were small in age but had the resolve of their grandfather Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Sahibzade were bricked alive and after suffering countless pain attained Shaheedi. Mata Gujri ji also attained Shaheedi in the Thanda Burj. This sacrifice became the roots of the panth which led to the rise of one countless great sikh warrior and shaheeds, who ultimately defined Sikh identity in its purest form by writing the glorious Sikh history with their own blood.
੯ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ੭ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਗੁਜਰੀ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਸਾ ਦੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਗੰਗੂ ਪਾਪੀ ਨੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਗਲ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਚਿਹਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੇਹਿਸਾਬ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਪਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਵਾਰ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ, ਤਦ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਨੰਦ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਕੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿਣਕੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਛੋਟੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਜਜ਼ਬਾ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਸੀ। ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਝੱਲਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਪਾ ਗਏ। ਮਾਤਾ ਗੁਜਰੀ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਠੰਢੇ ਬੁਰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਹ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਬਣੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਯੋਧੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਗੌਰਵਮਈ ਅਧਿਆਏ ਲਿਖੇ।
