Sometimes we don’t recognize and understand what is the worth of the identity we have today. As a Sikh we have forgotten how we came here and what has been sacrificed in order to protect and preserve the turban we wear. This artwork is a reminder of what it cost. Guru Gobind Singh ji at the time of taking Amrit from the Panj pyare gave a promise that when the time comes I will sacrifice my whole family for the panth, he fulfilled his promise. After sacrificing his 4 sons he said from now on the Khalsa is my son and I will always remain beside my beloved Khalsa. Guru Sahib sacrificed his father, mother, 4 sons and in the end himself for the panth and gave guruship to the 11th and final guru Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਫਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਸਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਾਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਇਹਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਲ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਕੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਪੰਥ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ। ਆਪਣੇ ਚਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਨ ਪੁਤਰਨ ਕੇ ਸੀਸ ਪਰ ਵਾਰ ਦੀਏ ਸੁੱਤ ਚਾਰ, ਚਾਰ ਮੂਏ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਆ ਹੁਆ ਜੀਵਤ ਕਈ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ।” ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਮਾਤਾ, ਚਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਥ ਲਈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ 11ਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਗੁਰੂ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੰਤ-ਸਿਪਾਹੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਤਿਆਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸਰਬੰਸਦਾਨੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਮਾਤਾ ਗੁਜਰੀ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੁਝਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਫਤਹਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ।
